Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, defrosted
  • Vegemite spread
  • Grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven 200ºC and line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
  2. Spread Vegemite over the pastry square.
  3. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Leave a border at the top to seal when you roll up.
  4. Now is the time to roll up the scrolls: From one end of the pastry, carefully remove the blue backing plastic and roll the edge of the pastry up and over the filling. Continue to roll the pastry over the filling, removing the blue plastic as you go. Allow to seal at the end. I usually seal with the Vegemite that is on the end of the pastry.
  5. Remove from the plastic and place rolled pastry on a chopping board. Using a sharp knife, carefully slice through the dough from end to end. I usually can get approximately 10 pieces at roughly 2cm thickness.
  6. Carefully place scrolls onto a lined baking tray and bake in the OVEN for approximately 15-20 minutes. Allow to cool on the tray 5 minutes before serving.
  7. AIR FRYER: follow instructions 1-5 and cook in the air fryer 10-12 minutes.

Notes

  • I prefer to use 'Borg's Puff Pastry'. However feel free to use any puff pastry you can find at the supermarket.

  • To make ahead of time.  Continue steps 1 through to 4.  Then from here you can wrap the blue plastic back over the scroll and place into a sealed container to be refrigerated.  This is a great way to prepare ahead of time and pull out when you are ready to cook.  I usually prepare these in the morning and cook when needed.  Continue steps 5-6 to cook.
