Mars Bar Slice
Ingredients
- 6 Mars Bars, chopped into 1cm cubes
- 100g unsalted butter, chopped into small cubes
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup
- 4 cups Rice Bubbles (Rice Krispies)
- 200g chocolate melts (milk or dark)
- 10g copha or 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
Instructions
- Line a 17cm x 27cm slice tray with baking paper, ensuring there’s a little overhang for easy removal later. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the chopped Mars Bars, butter and golden syrup. Stir until the mixture is fully melted and smooth. Take care not to let it boil.
- In a large bowl, place the Rice Bubbles. Pour the melted Mars Bar mixture over the top and quickly stir until well combined.
- Transfer the Rice Bubble mixture into the prepared tray. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to press down firmly and evenly to compact the slice.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate melts and copha (or coconut oil) in the microwave. Heat on medium power for 1 minute, then stir. Continue heating in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely melted and smooth.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the slice and smooth with a spatula. Let it set at room temperature before transferring it to the fridge to chill completely.
- Once the slice has set, use the overhanging baking paper to lift it out of the tray. Cut into squares with a sharp knife and enjoy!
